Chief Dr. George Moghalu, the Labour Party candidate for the Anambra governorship election, has declared his readiness to lead his party into the Anambra Government House.

Moghalu, made the declaration on Tuesday, shortly after returning to the state from Abuja. He expressed his readiness to hit the road for campaign tour of the state.

AnambraDaily can authoritatively report that the LP candidate was welcomed by hundreds of flag-waving, cheering Labour Party members and supporters at the Prof. Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri.

From the airport, the former managing director of the National Inland Waterways, NIWA, and his entourage rode to his campaign office at Udoka Housing Estate, Awka where he addressed party members, expressing his appreciation for the rousing welcome they gave him.

“I wasn’t expecting the kind of crowd that welcomed me at the airport. It came to me as a surprise and I’m happy about it,” Moghalu told newsmen after his brief address.

On his campaign strategy, Moghalu said it would be centered around issues affecting Anambra citizens and residents and, of course, his development programme for the state.

He also expressed confidence that the election would be free, fair and credible, adding “This election is about the people of Anambra state.
