Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Anambra State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, has ordered deployment of 1,021 personnel across the state’s 21 Local Government Areas t ensure peaceful and secure 2025 Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The Command’s Head of Media and Tactical Operations, Okadigbo Edwin, in a statement said the deployment is targeted at protecting lives, property and critical national assets and infrastructure before, during, and after the festivities.
He said the deployment followed an operational order issued to Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Departments and Units, Heads of Formations, and Tactical Commanders, detailing their specific responsibilities and duties.
“Maku directed them to intensify surveillance and visibility patrols in all critical areas, including national, state, and local government assets and infrastructure, flashpoints, vulnerable points, Eid praying grounds, schools, recreational centers, markets, motor parks, and other public places to prevent vandalism.
“He charged supervisory officers to closely monitor their subordinates, cautioning them to uphold professional standards, be courteous, and remain firm while carrying out their responsibilities.
“The NSCDC State Commandant assured the public that the security architecture would be closely monitored and reviewed as necessary to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the operational plans.
“He urged residents of the state to continue praying for the state and nation, and to report any incidents to the nearest NSCDC formation, while refraining from taking the law into their own hands.
“The State Commandant extends warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to the Muslim community, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration,” the statement reads.
