The Former Minister noted that development can not happen because the foundation and Organizational principles they inherited from the colonial masters were faulty and wrong.
He was speaking at 2025 District Conference of Rotary International District Awka 9142, held in Awka the Anambra state capital.
According to him, colonialism shattered the ideals of the traditional Pre Colonial system where the leaders were accountable to their followers with deep communal responsible structure.
Chief Chidoka regretted that poor governance and failure of leadership have continued to cause poor governance across Africa .
He said the people keep expecting ting transformational leadership from individuals shaped by broken systems created by the society.
" We expect them to deliver fairness when they rose through favors. We beg them to pursue public good when their loyalty is to the powers that be."
According to him, what colonial masters came to do in Africa was to build railways that aided the movement of products to where they are exported to their foreign lands.
The former FRSC Corps Marshal observed that the colonial masters built public Service that knows how to tax people so that they make money for the government in other to pay royalties back to the colonial government.
He regretted that when they left, Africa replaced them with leaders but failed to change the foundational principles of Extraxtion which made those in power to colle t from the state and keep sending to their private accounts abroad.
Chief Chidoka noted that the idea of Rotary Club is that which is driven by shared values and given back to the society through service above self.
He recommended what he called Trinity for national transformation where the Family, the Community and the Country are rebuild as a redefined National Values for rapid development.
In a goodwill mesaage,, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, commended Rotary International for its continued support to humanity, urging them to intensify its charitable efforts in the areas of health, education, flood and disaster management among others.
In his remarks, the District Governor of Rotary International District 9142, Professor Nkemdili Nnonyelu, appreciated members for their individual and collective contributions to the progress of the club, even as he expressed satisfaction that under his leadership, the district has recorded notable achievements.
Correspondent reports that the 2025 District Conference of Rotary International District 9142, attracted members from the seven states that make up the District including Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers.
