A group, Anambra Patriot for Soludo has expressed assurance on overwhelming victory for Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the upcoming November 8 governorship election in Anambra State.
The group also allayed fears of any federal might interference in the poll, saying President Bola Tinubu’s relationship with Soludo would not allow such to happen.
Speaking during inauguration of Ezioka Ward 4 executives of the group, coordinator Awka Patriots Comrade Sunday Nweke described Anambra as exceptional in the entire Southeast to experience imposition of any candidate.
He said, “Anambra is free from any external interference. We’re sure federal might can’t interfere. I know Tinubu is Soludo’s close friend and a member of his economic team.
“Besides, one party system is impossible, and Anambra is exceptional in Southeast.
While officially welcoming the Coordinator, Ezioka Ward 4, Chief Engr Chiso Nwangwu into the forum, Nweke, former councillor described him as a man of wisdom and courage.
He assured that Nwangwu would bring his wealth of experience and intellectual prowess to bear in uplifting the ward to enviable height.
He said, “We welcome my own brother to APGA forum. Automatically, he has become an exco member at the state level.
“This is as a result of my magnanimity and his courage and intellectual prowess because we need intelligent people in this forum.
“This forum is made of intellectuals, doctors, professors, engineers, captains of industries, etc. I’m confident he’ll uplift Awka Ward 4. This is just the beginning.”
Reacting to fears from opposition parties, especially the APC’s Ukachukwu Ekwunife joint ticket, Nweke dismissed them as feather weight politicians who were no match to Soludo.
“The margin between them and Soludo is too much. There’s no basis for comparison. We’re not afraid of any opponent.
“Iyom, on her part is an expired politician, jumping from one party to another. She had joined APGA that took her to house of representatives.”
On his part, Engr Nwangwu said his decision to join the group was to contribute his own quota towards ensuring return of the governor for his second term.
He thanked the group for finding him worthy to be one of them, pledging full support to the mandate.
“My father is a major stakeholder and one of the unsung heroes in Anambra State with a history of numerous contributions.
“Many of the roads, including the Works and Ifite road were done by our organization over 20 years. These are part of our legacies.
“Our firm provided electricity for the entire Southeast with over 400 transformers. I was once a consultant to the national assembly on the report that stopped estimated billing in Nigeria.
“We built the first pioneer metering plant in Anambra and Southeast. We contributed in stopping electricity billing in UNIZIK.
“We’re here to support Soludo for continuity because we looked at his track records and felt it was only wise to allow him complete his tenure.
“I joined the team as a servant leader to make my own contributions. The way I financed other several projects, I’ll replicate same to ensure Soludo’s return.
On plot by APC to take advantage of federal might, Nwangwu said, “Only a fool will under-estimate APC at the national. Nobody is a weakling. We do have respect for them.
“But we’ll continue in our progressive acts from start to finish to ensure Soludo is returned to complete his good works.”
