The Association of Non Indigenes Anambra State (ANIAS) has called on Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to partner with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in actualizing a railway project that will connect Onitsha to Nnewi and other major manufacturing and commercial centers in the state.
According to the group, the project would be a game changer for economic transportation and trade across the region.

In a press statement, ANIAS President Prince Chigozie Nweke emphasized the importance of leveraging federal support for key infrastructure initiatives, noting that Governor Soludo influence and relationship with the presidency could help bring the long envisioned railway line to fruition.
He believed such a project would boost commerce, ease logistics and further position Anambra as an economic hub in the Southeast.
The group also commended Governor Soludo for his warm reception of President Tinubu during his recent visit to the state and applauded the Governor strides in driving development across various sectors in Anambra.

ANIAS described Soludo as a “workaholic” leader and expressed readiness to work with his administration, especially on the association ongoing Database Project aimed at registering non-indigenes who are legally residing and conducting lawful businesses in the state. The initiative, they said, will ensure better revenue compliance and help in inclusive governance and planning.
While on security, the association pledged to support Governor Soludo administration by identifying and exposing criminal elements within communities, stressing that the safety and stability of Anambra is a shared responsibility.
ANIAS also urged the Governor to discuss with President Tinubu the need to complete the Enugu-Onitsha dual carriageway, a less-than-120km road linking two major southeastern cities, which has been under construction for over 25 years.
Reaffirming its commitment to the peace and progress of Anambra, ANIAS pledged continued partnership with the state government to support development, security, and prosperity for all residents.
