As the world marks International Firefighters Day (IFFD), the Chief Fire Officer of Anambra State Fire Service, Engr. Chiketa Chukwudi Emmanuel, has commended Anambra State firefighters for their services in Anambra State.
In his message, Engr. Chiketa lauded firefighters as fearless, committed and dedicated humanitarians who relentlessly serve the public, often at great personal risk. He emphasized the courage required in their line of duty, noting, “While others are running out of a fire scene to save their lives, the Firemen run in, risk their own lives to extinguish the fire, no matter how escalated it may appear, thereby giving hope to the people.”
The Chief Fire Officer encouraged all fire personnel to remain steadfast in their noble service, expressing faith that divine protection and blessings would continue to be upon them and their families.
In a press release from his media and publicity unit, Engr. Chiketa equally remembered fallen fire fighters, describing them as true heroes who dedicated their lives to serving humanity. He prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls and for God’s protection over the families they left behind.
