Anambra State Government has approved the release of the sum of thirty-four million, sixty-one thousand, two hundred and two naira, seventy-five kobo (N34,061,202.75) for the Reconstruction of Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.
Commissioner for Information, Paul Nwosu in a statement tagged, “DRM Alex Ekuwueme square, Awka to get huge makeover soon”, said the contract was awarded to Maxplus Integrated Services Ltd with a completion period of 10 weeks from the date of the payment of the 20% mobilization fee.
“Very soon, Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka which hosts the unknown soldiers’ cenotaph where parades are held, as well as other major events, will undergo a huge makeover,” the Commissioner said.
