The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has released the list of electoral committee members that will oversee its 2027 primary elections across the country, including Anambra State.

The committees will supervise the party’s primaries for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship and Presidential positions scheduled for May 29, 2026.

In Anambra State, the committee will be chaired by Prof. Osita Ogbu, alongside Engr. Uchenna Okogbuo, Nonso Okpala, Miss Hanatu Tanko and Barr. Chukwudi Igwe, who will serve as secretary.

The list was jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, and National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu.

Other South-East states also received their committee appointments. In Abia, Chief Asukewe Ikoawaji will chair the panel, while Dr. Peter Onigah heads the Ebonyi committee. Enugu’s committee will be led by Chief Teddy Obey, while Comrade Babatunde Ali will chair the Imo State panel.

The NDC said the committees were carefully selected to ensure transparent, peaceful and credible primaries across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Party leaders urged aspirants, delegates and members to cooperate fully with the committees throughout the exercise.

Political observers say the release of the committees signals the early build-up to the 2027 general elections, as parties begin internal preparations and consultations across the country.
