Group Hails Anambra Govt’s Public-Private Community Partnership Education Policy

Aguowulu Progressive Union (APU) Nigeria has described Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s education policy and Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) as laudable programs capable of bringing Anambra State to the desired all round development.

Chairman of the association, Comrade Dominic Nwobu stated this at the unveiling of the scholarship programs for students of Anambra East Local Government, who gained admission in various higher institutions.

He commended the Governor for the introduction of the free education program which has given access to quality education for Anambra children.

The Union made up of Aguleri Otu indigenes who faced challenges while struggling to be educated, decided to commit themselves to the empowerment of the upcoming generation through education in support of Soludo’s PPCP and free education program.

“The Governor’s free education program from primary to secondary schools, which followed the employment on merit of 1,115 teachers from across the country purely on merit, has positioned the children for academic pursuit that will place Anambra on the wheel of continuous development,” he added.

Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, thanked the group for deciding to make academic pursuit easier for the upcoming generation.

She charged the recipients to reciprocate this gesture by studying hard, as well as rise to become useful to the society and God.

“By being recipients of this scholarship, you have become indebted, you must empower those coming after you.

“In Anambra today the Governor is not just a Governor, but a humane citizen who is persistently building a smart city to be occupied by smart people.

“He has established 21 Smart schools and more are coming up,” she said.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka said education sector in Anambra has been coming tops in national and international competitions because Governor Soludo’s wisdom has been appointing women of substance, led by erudite Prof. Chuma-Udeh to head the education sector.
