A pharmaceutical company, Patricklingo has underscored the importance of preventive habits as essential to healthy living.
It identified one of such preventive habits as regular exercise, including sporting activities.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday in Onitsha during the closing of football tournament, representative of the firm, Uchechukwu Nnaji described football as powerful tool to promote fitness, teamwork and wellness in society.
He said the 3-weeks tournament sponsored by the brand was aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles as a preventive measure for families.
“We believe health is a lifestyle. Football offers a powerful way to promote fitness, teamwork, and wellness in our communities.
“The tournament reflects our belief that true healthcare starts with preventive habits, staying active, strong, and healthy,” he said.
On what inspired his firm to organise the tournament and the choice of sports as platform for engagement, Nnaji said sports served as means of connectivity not just medically, but emotionally and socially.
“Sports unite people across backgrounds. It allows us to connect emotionally and socially, not just medically, with Nigerians,” he stressed.
According to the brand rep, the tournament initiative aligns with Patricklingo’s overall vision to make quality healthcare accessible and relatable.
“Engaging through sports brings that vision to life in a fun, human way,” he added.
Reacting on the impact the tournament was expected to have on the community, Nnaji said, “We aim to inspire young people, promote teamwork, and show that discipline and good health are keys to success both in sports and in life.
“Patricklingo stands out within the pharmaceutical industry because we focus on safety, affordability and trust.
“We’re committed to producing reliable medicines while engaging communities through education and wellness programs.
“As healthcare leaders, we see ourselves as trusted partners, not only in medicine but also in public wellness advocacy.
“We’re planning more community-based programmes, including developing a series of health awareness campaigns and plan to extend this football initiative to more states across Nigeria.
“Watching how football has brought the community together and seeing our people play with such passion is a reminder of why we started this journey.”
