Anambra Guber: APGA Inaugurates Awka-South PU Campaign Council for Soludo’s Re-election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Awka South, on September 25, 2025 held an endorsement rally and inaugurated the polling unit campaign council for the re-election of Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim. The events took place at Umuoramma Village Square, Amenyi Awka (Ward One) and Unuozocha Civic Center, Awka (Ward Two), Anambra State.

In his address, the Deputy Governor Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, who led the campaign, described Awka people as custodians of culture and commended stakeholders, women and youths for turning out in large number to support the governor re-election. He highlighted key achievements of Soludo administration, including the construction of the first flyover in Awka, building of Fun City which he described as one of the best in Africa, the Lighthouse comprising of 57 buildings, as well as enhanced security that has transformed Awka into a glorified headquarters.

According to him, Governor Soludo has a 50 year master plan for Anambra State, covering water transportation, railway systems and extensive road networks handled by indigenous contractors.

He noted that the ongoing campaign creates an opportunity to engage directly with the people, adding that Nov. 8, 2025 governorship election would be “sacrosanct” in securing Soludo re-election bid.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Awka South Campaign Council and Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Dr. Ossy Onuko, while inaugurating the polling unit campaign council, praised the governor’s performance. He disclosed that Awka Ward One, with 17 polling units, has the capacity to deliver 10,000 votes for Soludo, while Ward Two, with 26 polling units, has a strong structure to ensure victory. He urged supporters to mobilize at the grassroots, stressing that “victory can only be achieved through polling unit strength.”

Stakeholders, including MD of OCHA Brigade Mr. Celestine Anere, Mr. Jude Agummadu and MD of ASWAMA, Engr. Mike Ozoemena declared total support for APGA in Awka. They assured that both wards would deliver 100 percent votes for Soludo, noting that his administration has demonstrated visible service delivery.

The Ward Two Women Leader, Mrs. Ebele Anene, applauded the governor for massive development in Awka South and pledged women support for his second term. Similarly, Mrs. Eucharia Nwachukwu described Soludo as the best governor assuring that nothing would stop his re-election.
