Anambra Guber: Moghalu Accuses Soludo of Poor Performance, Resorting to Vote-Buying

Labour Party Governorship candidate in the November 8 governorship election in Anambra state, Dr. George Moghalu has urged people of the state to be vigilant and beware of vote buyers.

He described vote buying as product of non or under-performance.

Speaking during his community campaign tour of Awkuzu, Nteje, Umueri, and Onitsha, Moghalu insisted that no government that had truly delivered on its promises should resort to inducement.

He warned that those who failed to perform in office were weaponizing poverty to buy votes, but assured that Anambra’s future could not be sold for money.

He paid homage to HRH Igwe Nnamenyi III, who prayed for him and wished him well in his ambition, saying let the will of God be done.

While interacting with traders at Nkwo Awkuzu Market, the LP flagbearer charged the people to remain steadfast, assuring that something new was about to happen in the state.

“They will come with money, but don’t be deceived. I urge Ndi Anambra not to fall for those who intend to buy their votes and mortgage their future for the next four years.

“I promise to serve with the fear of God, provide free healthcare, create jobs, and end insecurity. Your votes will not be in vain. Anambra ga adi mma ozo,” he declared.

Moghalu also commended Chief Charles Okafor (Wiper), alongside the state and local executives of the Labour Party, stressing that the massive mobilization shows the party is firmly on ground in Anambra North.

Taking a swipe at the Soludo administration, the former NIWA Managing Director accused the government of poor performance and misplaced priorities.

“We all witnessed what happened during the by-election, where the state treasury was recklessly emptied just to buy votes. If they had truly worked, why resort to vote buying?

“For the past three years, their only achievement is using Aka Ọdọ to collect taxes in this 21st century. If Soludo returns, he won’t use Aka Ọdọ again but a hammer,” Moghalu said.

He further promised to tackle insecurity through CCTV surveillance and better equipped, trained, and documented vigilantes.

The LG Guber hopeful also vowed to revive industries, unlock Anambra North’s agricultural potential, and restore the state’s educational excellence that was once the pride of the nation.

At All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha, where he addressed catechists of the Archdiocese, Moghalu sought prayers for his ambition.

He reminded them that power ultimately belongs to God and emphasized that the election is an opportunity to liberate the state.

“This is not just about me; it is about the future of our children and the dignity of our people. It is also about strengthening Peter Obi’s political base ahead of 2027.

“If we resist vote buying and stand together, Anambra will rise again,” he said.
