Labour Party Governorship candidate in the November 8 poll, Dr. George Moghalu has faulted Governor Chukwuma Soludo for constantly attacking former governor of the state, Mr Peter Obi instead of showing his scorecard.
He said Obi has not only awakened the political consciousness of Ndigbo but brought them back to the national political table.
Moghalu spoke on Tuesday at Umunze and Nwafija in Orumba South LGA and Agulu in Anaocha LGA as he kick-started his community campaign tour.
Chief George Moghalu, Addressing his supporters
“Soludo acts as if he was commissioned to bring down Obi, but whether he likes it or not, Obi has awakened the political consciousness of Ndi Igbo and brought us back to the national political table.
“Fortune can only be delayed but not denied; all powers belong to God and He gives it to whom He pleases,” he said.
Moghalu declared that the November 8 governorship election in the State would play decisive role in the 2027 presidential race.
According to him, people of the state must make a bold statement at the poll if they truly desire an Igbo presidency.
“If we truly desire an Igbo presidency, Anambra must make a bold statement. Our leader, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, needs his own state to stand firm in 2027.
“The whole country, especially Obi’s supporters, are watching Ndi Anambra.”
While decrying growing insecurity and absence of clear blueprint for development in the state, Moghalu promised to end insecurity in Orumba South and across the state if elected.
He also lamented activities of “Aka Odo” revenue collectors, vowing to end such exploitative practice.
“Our vigilantes must be trained, documented, equipped with technology, and properly funded.
“Why can’t Anambra have a control room system to monitor activities across the state? It is already working in Enugu and it is possible here.
“Today, the Udogachi security outfit who are expected to protect us have instead become a source of fear because they are untrained and unregulated.”
The LP flagbearer urged the people to remain vigilant and not be deceived by vote-buying, warning that those who failed for four years would return with money to buy votes.
“Do not mortgage your future for N10,000. Ask them what they have achieved in the years they stayed in power.
“Vote your conscience, vote for Labour Party, because Peter Obi’s journey to the presidency begins with Anambra Governorship election,” he stressed.
Reassuring people of the state of purposeful leadership, Moghalu vowed never to fail them, just as he declared that he would not pass through his generation unsung but would deliver projects and policies posterity would always remember.
Responding, people of Umunze, Nwafija, and Agulu communities assured him of their maximum support, promising to stand by him and deliver massively for LP in the coming election.
