Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has commissioned one-storey block of classrooms renovated at the Walter Eze Memorial Secondary School Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state.
The classroom block was renovated by Chairman of the Council area, Chijioke Ozumba with support from some spirited individuals.
Speaking during the event, Commissioner Chuma-Udeh appreciated the benefactor for his spirit of giving back to the society.
The commissioner, represented by Public Relations Officer in the ministry, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu also appreciated the President General of the community for embarking on and completing the reconstruction of collapsed portion of the school’s perimeter fencing.

Earlier, the LG boss said he embarked on the project with his personal resources and those he gathered from some well meaning individuals who decided to support the education agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
He disclosed Commissioner’s earlier approval for inclusion of Dunukofia LGA in the state wide reconstruction going on in schools.
Ozumba also mentioned the establishment of a public primary school at Umudioka and construction of a smart school in one of the communities in the Local Government.
“We’ve also renovated classroom blocks and laboratories in some schools as some of Soludo’s activities which distinguished me from other politicians.
“Mr Governor has continued to work even with two months ahead of the election,” he added.
In their separate remarks, President General of Ukpo community, Cyril Ezewulu, APGA Chairman of Dunukofia, Emeka Okonkwo and member of Igwe in Council, John Olibie praised the benefactor for the gesture which they said was in line with Soludo’s program of improving the education sector.
Highlights of the occasion were cutting of tape and unveiling of plaque by the Commissioner’s representative after prayer of dedication conducted by a priest, Rev. Uluonu.
The Commissioner’s team was conducted round some of the projects being proposed for the school and those earlier completed by the benefactor.
