Youths under the aegis of the Anambra State Town Unions Council (ASTUC) Youths, have condemned the recent assault on a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Miss Jennifer Elohor in the state.

The group made this known during the Anambra Youth Rally in support of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election, which took place at Aroma Junction and proceeded to the New Light House in Awka.

Addressing Journalists, ASTUC President Comrade Ken Okoli commended the state security outfit, Operation Udogachi, for its efforts in protecting citizens. He noted that the state Governor has provided a solution to the security challenge that once plagued the state, through the enactment of the Anambra State security law that gave birth to Operation Udogachi, a combination of security agencies in Anambra State.

Comrade Okoli highlighted the success of Agunechema, a key component of Operation Udogachi, which has made the state safe for residents. According to him, Agunechema is now operational in all 179 communities in Anambra State, and its presence has driven out hoodlums and kidnappers.

While condemning the assault on the NYSC member by some Agunechema personnel, Comrade Okoli emphasized that deviants within the security outfit should be dealt with according to the code of conduct and rules of engagement. He commended the state government for ensuring that the eight persons involved in the assault are in custody and will face prosecution.

Receiving ASTUC Youths, The Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi thanked the youths for their solidarity with the government. He stated that the administration has an agenda with a deadline to deliver and appreciated them for their passion and firm belief in the government.

“It is good to see youths who are firm with passion that believe in the government,” he said.

Mr. Ezeajughi highlighted the transformation that Anambra State has undergone under Governor Soludo’s leadership, particularly in the area of security. “Out of 12, there will always be a Judas,” he noted, referencing attempts by some political parties to destabilize the state.

He commended Operation Udogachi and Agunechema for making the state safe, allowing residents to sleep peacefully. He also praised the Governor’s efforts in liberating Ihiala and improving security across the state.
