Anambra state Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has welcomed former member of the House of Representatives for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo back into the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Ezenwankwo who previously defected to another party, returned back to APGA, a decision that Soludo hailed as sign of loyalty to the party’s foundational principles.

Speaking in Nanka amidst celebration of party’s recent electoral victories at the Senatorial and Constituency Bye-Elections, Soludo emphasized importance of unity within the party.

“The striking thing is that the event came a day after an election considered one of the most consequential in the history of APGA and Anambra State, with the party emerging triumphant across all 118 wards in Anambra South.

“We welcome back home with open arms. The gesture resonates not just as a political maneuver, but as a reaffirmation of APGA’s enduring presence and strengthened commitment to the progress of Anambra.

“APGA is where every progressive in Anambra belongs. It is not just a political party; it is a movement, and for many, almost a religion.

“The entrenched significance of the party in the lives of Anambra residents can’t be over-emphasized.

According to the Governor, the timing of the official reunion, following the elections, showcased the party’s strength, further reinforcing the message of solidarity and progress.

“The collective will of ndị Anambra was evident in the results. Anambra spoke loud and clear,” he stated.

Extending gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his emphasis on necessity for free and fair elections, Soludo acknowledged efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in facilitating the electoral process.

He also commended the security agencies, asserting their role in providing a level playing field that allowed for an impartial election, saying “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”
