Member representing Anambra East/West federal Constituency, Hon. Hon. Peter Aniekwe, has called on the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to establish automobile workshop centres in his constituency.
Hon. Aniekwe made the appeal during a courtesy visit to Mr. Oluwemimo Osanipin, NADDC Director General, on Monday, August 11, 2025.
The lawmaker said the initiative would help train and equip residents, noting that his constituency, though predominantly agrarian, also has a large number of vehicles in use.
His words: โThat Anambra is an oil-producing state, it is from my constituency, because we have gas in abundance.
โWe appeal that you help us train our people and build infrastructure to train them, because their needs are my concern.
โI am ready to contribute and facilitate anything possible to ensure that these workshop centres are created for my people.
โI want to make sure that before I finish my tenure, my people will see a difference.
โOur president can not be everywhere; he can only do the one he can, but as lawmakers, we are here to help. Apart from making laws and oversight functions, we are also tasked with attracting development for our people.โ
Speaking earlier, the NADDC DG described Anambra East/West as a strategic constituency.
He also commended Aniekwe for his efforts to help his people and empower them through automobile workshops.
