Labour party Governorship Candidate in Anambra State, Chief George Moghalu has condemned recent mayhem unleashed under the guise of an “anti-tout” operation in Obosi community.

Moghalu in a statement on Sunday described the incident as a reflection of what people of the state have been enduring silently for too long.

He appealed to the youths in the community to remain calm, assuring that his party would not only restore peace and order but would also ensure that every form of Agbero activity was permanently eradicated in the state.

The statement reads in part, “We acknowledge the pain, frustration, and fear caused by the recent mayhem unleashed under the guise of an “anti-tout” operation in our community.

“What happened in Obosi is not just an isolated incident; it is a reflection of what our people have been enduring silently for too long.

“Let me be very clear: Agberoism is not a job. It is a menace. It breeds chaos, oppression, and lawlessness. We must not continue this way.

“To the youth of Obosi, I appeal to you: remain calm. Help is on the way. The incoming Labour Party government will not only restore peace and order but will also ensure that every form of Agbero activity is permanently eradicated.

“We are building a system where dignity, decency, and lawful enterprise will be the foundation of our society — a government that listens, protects, and creates opportunities, not one that terrorizes its own people.

“The ugly events of recent days in Obosi are a wake-up call. Enough is enough. Let us unite, break this cycle of intimidation, and build a better future.

“Anambra ga-adi mma ozo.”
