Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra state has commenced intensive training for corps members ahead of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise slated for July 8 to 17, 2025 in preparation for the November 8 gubernatorial election.
The training, which began today, is being conducted simultaneously across all 21 local government areas of the state.
Each INEC local government office is hosting sessions aimed at equipping corps members with necessary skills and knowledge to support the voter registration process effectively.
According to officials, the training covers key aspects of the CVR exercise, including use of biometric data capture devices, voter data management and adherence to electoral guidelines and protocols.
The corps members, who are expected to play vital role in the registration process, have shown enthusiasm and commitment to ensuring a smooth and credible exercise.
An INEC official in Awka South LGA noted, โThe involvement of corps members has always been instrumental in the success of our electoral processes. This training is to ensure they are well-prepared and confident in their roles.โ
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, commended the corps members for their dedication and urged them to uphold the values of integrity, neutrality, and professionalism throughout the exercise.
The Continuous Voter Registration is a critical part of INECโs efforts to update the national voter register, allowing eligible Nigerians who have not yet registered to do so, and enabling registered voters to correct or update their information.
As the July 8 kickoff approaches, INEC and NYSC officials have assured the public of their readiness to deliver a seamless and transparent registration process across the State.
