Anambra govt vows action over SASA clash with citizens in Obosi

Anambra State Government on Friday said it is investigating recent clash between Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) operatives and individuals in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state resulting to property damage.

Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor in a statement assured people of Obosi and the public that decisive action would be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

He also revealed that SASA was undergoing reorganisation to enhance professionalism and efficiency, adding that the step was targeted at ensuring the squad operated effectively and responsibly.

The statement reads, “Anambra State Government is actively investigating the recent clash between Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) operatives and individuals in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, which led to property damage.

“We assure the people of Obosi and the general public that we will take decisive action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“To enhance professionalism and efficiency, SASA is undergoing reorganisation. This step aims to ensure the squad operates effectively and responsibly.

“The government urges calm and cooperation from residents as we work to resolve this matter.”
