National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra state has urged corps members to reciprocate the warm embrace from their host communities by serving them with humility, passion and purpose.
State Coordinator, Mrs Pauline Ojisua gave the advice while declaring closed orientation course for the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Corps members deployed to the state.
She challenged them to identify needs of the people, seek solutions and execute them with excellence, arguing that they would earn a permanent place in the hearts of their host communities by offering their best.
Ojisua also urged the corps members to continue honing the skills garnered from the camp as they turn those skills to strength and legacy.
She said, “Today is a day of pride, joy, and fulfillment as we gather to celebrate your successful completion of the Orientation Programme here at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Camp.
“You have come a long way from the first roll call to today’s final parade. Through drills, lectures, physical exercises, and skills training, you have demonstrated discipline, resilience, and unity. You have proven that you are ready for the next chapter of your service year.
“With the knowledge and skills you have garnered from this camp, especially through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, I urge you to continue honing your craft. Let your skill become your strength and your legacy.
“As you go out into the 21 Local Government Areas of the State, remember that your host communities have warmly embraced you, including offering free transport to your places of assignment. In return, serve them with humility, passion, and purpose.
“Let your Community Development Service (CDS) projects reflect your commitment to making a lasting impact. Identify needs, seek solutions, and execute with excellence — for in giving your best, you earn a permanent place in their hearts.
“Today marks the end of one phase but the beginning of a greater journey. Carry with you the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the values instilled. Serve with integrity, compassion and excellence.
“Go forth now, be ambassadors of unity, agents of change, and builders of our nation.”
The Coordinator appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo and wife, Nonye, people of Umuawulu and Mbaukwu, traditional rulers, security agencies, and all stakeholders for their unwavering support to the NYSC scheme.
“Special thanks to the Camp Director, Mrs. Chioma Victoria Obu, and her team. Your dedication ensured a safe, impactful, and memorable orientation experience,” she added.
