Anambra State government has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining educational standards and ensuring quality assurance in schools throughout the state.

During a two-day workshop organized for private school owners, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, provided this assurance. She emphasized that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is dedicated to fostering quality education early on to produce globally competitive graduates.

“The two-day seminar focused on educational practices, issues, and trends essential for maintaining standards and quality assurance in schools,” she stated.

“We aim to educate school owners on the fundamentals of running a school, emphasizing the dos and don’ts of establishing educational institutions. It is crucial for them to understand the regulations governing private schools and the education system.”

The workshop covered key areas, including quality assurance, methodologies, teacher-student relationships, student-society relationships, morals and ethics, and adherence to the curriculum.

Tuesday’s training session targeted proprietors and proprietresses in the Awka, Aguata, and Nnewi zones, while Wednesday’s session will focus on participants from Onitsha, Otuocha, and Ogidi zones.

“We expect that after the workshop, participants will be equipped with modern and progressive knowledge to advance their schools,” she added.

Prof. Chuma-Udeh expressed concern over the low attendance at the training and warned that absenteeism would no longer be overlooked. She questioned the message sent by those who did not attend, cautioning them to consider their approval at stake.
