Anambra State has emerged best State in the 2024 Standard Educational Performance Ranking of the National Examination Council (NECO) in South East.
The 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE (Internal) Ranking by Geo-Political Zone released by NECO placed Anambra State number one on the list.
The table 22 showed that out of 29,290 candidates that registered for the examination, 29,053 candidates sat for the examination and passed with credits in five subjects and above, including English and Mathematics.
Imo State came second, followed by Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia States.
The analysis of candidates performance by states released alongside the ranking scored Anambra State 89% as shown in the table 3B.
Reacting, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, expressed joy with the ranking and analysis.
She thanked the education family in the State for proving that the systematic approach of education passionate Governor Chukwuma Soludo has revolutionized and continued to yield the desired dividend.
“The ranking has made manifest the passion with which Gov Soludo has revolutionized to make functional, the the Anambra State education system.
“Soludo’s recruitment of qualified teachers, making education accessible to every child in the State through free education as well as infrastructural upgrade in schools made possible the achievement of this feat,” she added.
The Commissioner however decried attitude of certain mischief makers who, rather than seeing the governor’s good works in education, resort to use social media to disseminate false information.
She cited information disseminated through an X handle, showing false report purported to be a NECO ranking which excluded Anambra State and her feat.
While wondering how such serious information could be disseminated using such unofficial personal media, Chuma-Udeh advised the public to always seek clarification on any information received through the social media.
