Anambra Govt Sanctions School for Selling ‘Head Pupil’s’ Position to Highest Bidder

Anambra State Government has placed one month sanction on the Blossom Fount School, Awka in the state capital for monetizing the election of the schools’ Head Pupil.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh announced the sanction following report that the school collected the sum of N5,000 from pupils vying for position of Head Pupil in the primary section of the school.

She described the act as selling the psyche of the children to the highest bidder from cradle, insisting that such was unacceptable under the Soludo-led administration.

“You are selling the psyche of the children to the highest bidder from cradle and it is not acceptable to this government,” she warned.

The Commissioner said investigations were ongoing to ascertain how the school was being run.
