Mushrooms Farming Will Stop Youths’ from Desperate Search for Greener Pastures Oversea – Mbeng

Mushrooms cultivation, a $60 billion business has been identified as the game-changer for youths and small holder farmers in Nigeria and other African countries.

Dr Bridget Mbeng, President and Founder of Mbeng Adio Mushroom Farm Global Limited gave this hint in an address to participants during a three days practical training program on Mushroom farming at Awka, Anambra State capital.

According to Mrs Mbeng, mushrooms business is another investment goldmine waiting to be tapped as its benefits cuts across health, economic and financial to employment.
She disclosed that with a growing surge in demand for mushrooms globally, those who engaged in mushroom farming will become millionaires in near future.

“This Mushrooms cultivation business will stop our youths from traveling through the deserts and crossing the seas in search of better life. With this, they can make better life by themselves in their own backyard”, she adds.

The MAMF boss also noted that opportunities awaiting those that enrolled and participated in the training were plenty. “We have good technical team that will provide the necessary information you need to succeed in Mushrooms cultivation. They are equally ready to answer your questions and guide you through”, she told participants stressing that time has come for Africa to take over mushrooms business in the next three to five years.

Dignitaries after the opening ceremony on Friday, June 24,2022 at the St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka.

Dr Samson Adeniran, the International President of Life Plus Foundation International also described the Mushrooms Farming training program as part of the ways his organization has been contributing to socioeconomic well-being of Nigerians. He stressed that since government alone cannot create jobs for all the team citizens especially the poor, it is has become imperative to focus on training individuals through be self reliant.
“God has created every creature with what they will use to survive and live a fruitful life. But human beings struggle because of ignorance. So we are here to open your eyes to the wonders of mushrooms farming business”, Adeniran told participants.

The Convener of the training and leader of the Movement for Good Governance and Conscience (MGGC), Comrade Uche Egbebuike, in his address said the group partnered with Life Plus Foundation for the training to assist the government in empowering people in the state. “We want to provide our people with a practical training in Mushrooms Farming business to make them self-reliant instead of waiting for government.
“We believe that if more people, especially youths are trained in this kind of business, it will go a long way in reducing social vices in our society.
Egbebuike urged the Anambra State government to assist in making the target of the initiative a reality by sponsoring more people for the training and mushrooms farming business.

Mr Chinedu Nwoye, the Deputy Chief Of Staff/State Chief of Protocol, who witnessed the opening ceremony of the training, assured of the state government’s support for the initiative by making sure that the true expectations extended to other Soludo support organizations across the state. He also pledged to get more people to sponsor those that cannot afford the cost of attending the training and starting the mushroom farming business in the state.


Also in his contribution, the Majority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly, Pharmacy Dr. Nnamdi Okafor urged the participants to take advantage of the opportunity to become successful mushroom farmers. “Our expectation is that in six months to five years, most of you have grown in this business. We want this business to produce many millionaires from here”, he stressed.
