The Anambra State chapter of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to deliver a landslide victory for its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, in the 2027 general elections, following the inauguration of the party’s State Campaign Council.
The inauguration ceremony, held yesterday at King David’s Hotel, Awka, was led by the State Coordinator, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Ibezi, alongside the State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ikem Uzoezie, and other members of the party’s leadership.
The event attracted prominent party leaders, stakeholders and elected representatives, including serving members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ifeanyi Uzokwe and Hon. Afam Ogene.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the NDC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the campaign council expected to coordinate political activities, strengthen party structures and drive grassroots mobilisation across Anambra State’s 21 local government areas and 326 wards.
Addressing the task ahead, Ibezi reaffirmed the party leadership’s commitment to building a united, disciplined and formidable campaign organisation capable of galvanising widespread support for Obi and other NDC candidates.
He stressed the importance of effective coordination, strategic mobilisation and collective commitment in achieving the party’s electoral objectives.
The campaign council is expected to spearhead grassroots engagement, expand the party’s political influence and mobilise voters across communities in the state.
Following the inauguration, party leaders and members expressed renewed determination to intensify mobilisation efforts and consolidate the NDC’s presence across Anambra State.
The party leadership also resolved to work collectively towards securing victory for Peter Obi and all NDC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The development underscores the NDC’s growing focus on grassroots organisation and strategic campaign planning as political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential race gather momentum.
