Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has summoned prominent political stakeholders from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to a joint meeting in Awka as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace.
The meeting, scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, is expected to bring together serving and former political officeholders, party leaders, elected representatives and other influential stakeholders from across the state.
An announcement dated October 22 and signed by Dr Ben Nwankwo, Chief of Staff to the Governor and Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Secretariat in Anambra State, stated that the gathering would take place at the International Convention Centre, Awka.
Accreditation is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., with proceedings expected to commence at 1 p.m.
Soludo, who also serves as the Anambra State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council, is convening the meeting against the backdrop of growing political consultations and realignments ahead of the next general elections.
Broad Invitation List Targets Political Stakeholders
According to the announcement, the meeting will bring together serving and former governors and deputy governors of Anambra State, members of the national, zonal and state working committees of APGA and APC, as well as serving and former federal and state lawmakers.
All APGA and APC candidates for the 2027 general elections who belong to either party have also been invited.
The invitation extends to serving and former political appointees in the state and federal governments, members of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council from Anambra, and serving and former local government chairmen, mayors and transition committee chairmen who remain members of either party.
Also expected are serving and former members of the boards of trustees of APGA and APC from Anambra State, coordinators of Tinubu support groups, and local government party officials, including secretaries, women leaders and youth leaders.
Elected councillors and ward chairmen of APGA and APC are included, alongside members of the state working committees of the Accord Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Organisers Warn Against Late Arrival
The organisers have introduced strict accreditation and attendance procedures for the meeting.
The announcement states that only duly accredited invitees will be admitted, with participants expected to complete accreditation from 10 a.m. and take their seats before proceedings begin at 1 p.m.
It further warns that the doors will be closed once the meeting commences.
The organisers said the extensive invitation list was designed to ensure that eligible stakeholders within the specified categories were covered.
Political Implications Ahead of 2027
The planned gathering comes at a time when political actors are stepping up consultations and positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With APGA’s political structure in Anambra and the APC’s national political machinery represented among the expected participants, the meeting will draw attention to how stakeholders approach campaign coordination and wider electoral preparations.
However, the announcement did not specify the meeting’s agenda beyond identifying the participating groups and outlining attendance arrangements.
