The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Youth Reformation, Dr Nelson Obinna Omenugha, has unveiled a Youth Reformation billboard at the Chinua Achebe International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area, as part of efforts to promote responsible citizenship, good values and youth participation in the development of Anambra State.
The billboard, unveiled at the airport’s departure area on Friday, October 9, 2026, features messages encouraging Ndi Anambra, particularly young people, to contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth, protect public infrastructure, promote peace and uphold the values of responsible citizenship.
The initiative comes two days after a similar Youth Reformation campaign was launched in Ottawa, Canada, where Anambra indigenes residing in different parts of the country gathered to support the initiative.
Speaking at the unveiling, Omenugha said the campaign aligns with Governor Soludo’s vision of positioning Anambra as a destination hub in Nigeria by 2070 through value reorientation, character development and active citizen participation.

He explained that the messages were designed to inspire Anambra youths travelling abroad to remain connected to their communities and contribute to the state’s development, while encouraging residents at home to protect its achievements and sustain its progress.
According to him, the messages displayed at the airport include: “What Have You Done Today to Make Anambra Greater?” “See It, Say It, Do Something,” “Ibu Ife Nke Obodo Gi (Let the Light Shine),” “Keep It Clean, Keep the Peace, Protect It,” and “A Better Anambra Begins With You.”
Omenugha described the message at the departure lounge as a call for reflection, responsibility and action.
“This message challenges every Onye Anambra to look beyond personal success and consider their contribution to the progress of our state. Whether through enterprise, innovation, community service, integrity or creating opportunities for others, we all have a role to play in building a greater Anambra,” he said.
He added that travelling outside the state should not diminish the responsibility of indigenes to contribute to its development.
“Leaving home should not mean leaving our responsibility behind,” Omenugha stated.
He further noted that the campaign was intended to reinforce a shared identity among Ndi Anambra, regardless of their location, while encouraging them to protect public facilities, promote peaceful coexistence, uphold community values and take pride in the state.
According to him, the initiative reflects the core objectives of the Soludo administration’s Youth Reformation Programme, which seeks to restore values, build character, create opportunities and inspire responsible citizenship among young people.
“A greater Anambra is not built by government alone, but through the everyday choices, actions and contributions of its people,” he said.
Omenugha called on residents and indigenes in the diaspora to embrace the campaign beyond the airport and translate its messages into practical actions in their communities.
“The Youth Reformation is a shared responsibility. Let these messages become a daily reminder to every Onye Anambra: contribute to your community, lead with character, create value and take responsibility for our collective future,” he said.
He urged Anambra youths to become positive influences wherever they find themselves and to ensure that their actions contribute to the state’s progress.
The Special Adviser also expressed appreciation to the partners and sponsors who supported the initiative, including the airport management, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Bundu Group, Casaquil Luxury Homes and Properties, the Anambra State Police Command, Rt. Hon. Agbodike Paschal Arinze, HRH Igwe Godson Onyediri of Lilu, Agbalusia Ngene Front and YanKontent Factory.
The unveiling was performed by Prince Emeka Kalu, National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU).
Kalu commended Governor Soludo for championing the Youth Reformation initiative and urged Ndi Anambra, particularly young people, to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
Among those present at the event were the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the airport, Mr Martins Emeka Nwafor; the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Omenugha, fnipr; and the Anambra State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Nonso Nwaebili, Esq., alongside members of the council’s state executive.
Also in attendance were student union presidents from tertiary institutions across Anambra State, led by the Student Union Government President of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Comrade Ikezu Anthony Chukwunwike, as well as academics, security personnel and media professionals.
The initiative forms part of Omenugha’s broader vision of building a generation of empowered, self-reliant and socially responsible young people capable of contributing to the sustainable development of Anambra State and Nigeria.
