BREAKING: Anambra Businessman Okey Ezeibe Found Dead in Imo Hotel Room

Prominent Anambra businessman and politician, Chief Okey Ezeibe, has reportedly been found dead in his hotel room in Imo State, shortly before a scheduled breakfast meeting with a political associate.

Ezeibe, founder and CEO of Legacy Motors, also known as Legacy Urban Peony Services Limited, was reportedly in Imo State to meet Chief Martins Agbaso, the NDC governorship candidate.

According to reports, the two men had initially planned to meet for dinner on Saturday, September 19. However, the meeting was postponed after Agbaso travelled to Delta State for another engagement. They subsequently agreed to meet the following morning for breakfast.

Concern reportedly arose when Ezeibe failed to leave his hotel room at the agreed time. His associates allegedly knocked on the door without receiving a response before forcing it open and finding him dead inside.

Initial reports suggested a possible heart attack, but the cause of death had not been officially confirmed at the time of reporting.

Ezeibe was a former President and Board of Trustees member of the Balogun Business Association (BBA) in Lagos, where he played a prominent role in the founding of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex to cater for business interests of Ndigbo.

He was also known for his longstanding friendship with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his reported involvement in political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A native of Awgbu in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ezeibe’s reported death has triggered reactions across business, political, and community circles.

Further details on the circumstances of his death and funeral arrangements are expected from his family and associates.
