2026 Holy Land Pilgrimage: Anambra Commences Form Sales, Announces November Airlifting

The Anambra State Government has announced the commencement of pilgrimage form sales ahead of the 2026 Holy Land pilgrimage, with the airlifting of qualified and eligible pilgrims scheduled to begin in the first week of November and conclude in the last week of December.

Mr. Odira Ezeh, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Pilgrims Affairs, disclosed this on Sunday while speaking with newsmen.

The announcement follows resolutions reached at the Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers’ Meeting held on September 14 in Abuja, where the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) and State Pilgrimage Welfare Boards reviewed developments in the pilgrimage sector.

The meeting, chaired by the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, focused on strengthening administrative procedures and ensuring a more seamless pilgrimage experience.

According to Ezeh, Israel and Jordan have been approved as destinations for the 2026 pilgrimage, with the safety and welfare of pilgrims receiving priority attention during the discussions.

Anambra Pilgrims Office Calls on Intending Pilgrims

Ezeh urged qualified and intending pilgrims across Anambra State to take advantage of the collaboration between the State Pilgrims Office and the NCPC as registration gets underway.

He noted that the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo remained committed to promoting religious tourism and creating an enabling environment for the effective administration of pilgrimage affairs.

“I want to announce to the good people of Anambra that the State Pilgrimage Welfare Boards had a very fruitful meeting with the NCPC in Abuja last week.

“At that meeting, the airlifting of pilgrims to the Holy Land was approved to commence from the first week of November till the end of December.

“So, in line with that development, I want to announce that the sale of forms has commenced in Anambra, and we shall come up with more details in the coming days,” he said.

Ezeh Commends Soludo, Deputy Governor

The Senior Special Assistant expressed appreciation to Governor Soludo for providing a conducive political environment for the administration of Pilgrims Affairs.

He also acknowledged the contributions of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, for his supervision and support.

With form sales now underway, intending pilgrims are expected to await further announcements from the Anambra Pilgrims Office regarding registration procedures and other relevant details.
