IPMAN Celebrates Ezeokafor’s Safe Return, Calls for Stronger Security in Anambra

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has celebrated the safe return of its Grand Patron, Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, Managing Director of Jezco Oil Group, following his release from kidnappers after 12 days in captivity.

IPMAN leadership and members paid a welcome-back visit to the oil magnate, expressing gratitude to God for his safe return and condemning the circumstances surrounding his abduction.

The delegation was led by Mr. Chinedu Anyaso, Chairman of the IPMAN Enugu Depot Community, alongside Chief Linus Mgbakogu and Chief Ndubuisi Egbobota, Assistant Secretary of the unit.

Ezeokafor was abducted on August 4 at a prayer ground in Ifite, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He regained his freedom on August 15 after spending 12 days in captivity.

He and another abducted victim were subsequently picked up by family members in Ebenebe, a border community with Enugu State, according to the Anambra State Police Command.

During the visit, the IPMAN delegation described the incident as unfortunate and offered thanksgiving prayers for Ezeokafor’s safe return.

The association also called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to improve the security situation in Anambra State and protect residents and visitors across the state.

Speaking during the visit, an IPMAN representative said the delegation came to share in Ezeokafor’s joy and thank God for preserving his life.

“Today, we paid a welcome-back visit to our Grand Patron, High Chief Sir J.J. Ezeokafor, Chairman of Jezco Group, and conveyed our joy.

“We offered thanksgiving prayers to the Almighty God for bringing him back safely from the wicked hands of daredevil kidnappers.

“We pray that God, in His infinite mercy and goodness, will continue to bless, guide and protect him and his entire family, just as we pray for the safety of all citizens.”

The association further urged security authorities to sustain proactive measures against kidnapping and other criminal activities, stressing the need to create a safer environment for businesses and communities across Anambra State.
