Faith Agbro, the twin sister of Favour, the 20-year-old woman who died after reportedly taking her own life in Warri following an alleged rape involving a popular content creator known as Odogwu Asaaba, has spoken publicly about the family’s struggle to save her.

Speaking in a conversation with the family’s lawyer, Awele Ideal, Faith said the family exhausted every available option to secure medical treatment for her sister after her health reportedly began to deteriorate.

“Once we noticed she was no longer herself, we started borrowing money from different people to pay for her treatment. We did everything we could to save her, but sadly, we lost her. Now, those who lent us money are asking to be repaid,” Faith said.

According to her, the family’s efforts left them with debts totaling approximately ₦7 million, placing an additional burden on them as they continue to mourn their loss.

Faith also disclosed that before her death, Favour had reportedly expressed sympathy for the suspect, allegedly asking that consideration be shown because he has twin daughters.

Reacting to the development, the family’s lawyer, Awele Ideal, alleged that the suspect has made several offers aimed at persuading the family to withdraw the case.

“There have been proposals with very attractive terms for the family to discontinue the case,” the lawyer claimed.

She further stated that while some family members, including Favour’s father, were said to be considering showing compassion because of the suspect’s elderly mother, she advised against accepting any settlement.

“I have made it clear that under no circumstances should the family accept any offer that could jeopardize the legal process. The case should be allowed to run its full course in court,” she said.

The allegations against the content creator remain before the appropriate authorities, and no court has reached a verdict on the matter. The suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in accordance with the law.
