Mr Chinedu Anyaso, an aspirant for Ekwusigo/Nnewi North/Nnewi South House of Representatives ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has withdrawn from the race.
Anyaso, who is the Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Depot Community made the announcement in a Statement on Sunday.
Recall that Anyaso formally declared to contest the Ekwusigo/Nnewi North/Nnewi South House of Representatives seat on the platform of APGA on March 7.
The grassroots politician said his decision to withdraw from the APGA ticket race followed consultations with stakeholders and the people of the constituency.
He described the decision as difficult but had to be taken in the interest of equity, fairness and in reaction to the dynamics within APGA.
He noted that public service was not a do or die affair and restated his commitment to contribute politically to the development of the Constituency.
“I wish to announce my withdrawal from the Ekwusigo/Nnewi North/Nnewi South House of Representatives contest on the platform of APGA.
“I sincerely hope that my decision will reduce distractions and strengthen coordination in line with the ‘Onye Aghana Nwanneya’ mantra of APGA.
“I remain committed to the progress and prosperity of our great constituency and State Anambra and also declare my readiness to serve my people where and when necessary.
“I remain committed to APGA under the able leadership of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as National Leader and Barr Sly Ezeokenwa, as National Chairman and members of his National Working Committee,” he said.
