The Elite Youths of Anam Foundation (EYAF) has congratulated Dr. Ekene Ogugua on his appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Education in Anambra State.
The organization, renowned for championing quality educational driven development in Anambra West described Ogugua’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of competence, dedication, and commitment to public service.
In a congratulatory message jointly signed by the President of EYAF, Dr. Christopher Ejike Anekwe, and the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Barr. Victor Akazuo Nwakasi, the foundation said the appointment has brought immense pride and renewed hope to the people of Anambra West Local Government Area.
According to the group, Ogugua’s appointment comes at a critical period when Anambra West continues to grapple with longstanding educational and developmental challenges, including infrastructural deficits, limited access to quality education, and inadequate opportunities for students and youths.
EYAF noted that despite the abundant human and natural resources in the area, the local government has remained disadvantaged in terms of educational development compared to other parts of the state.
The foundation further highlighted its more than a decade-long commitment to youth and educational development in Anambra West through initiatives such as mentorship programmes, academic competitions, scholarship support, leadership development, career guidance, and advocacy for educational advancement.
“Your emergence as Commissioner for Education at this critical time offers renewed hope for a brighter educational future for our Local Government and the entire state,” the statement read.
The group expressed confidence in Dr. Ogugua’s leadership capacity and vision, stating that his wealth of experience would drive meaningful reforms capable of strengthening the educational system in Anambra State, particularly in underserved communities.
EYAF also pledged its readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Education in promoting policies and programmes aimed at improving educational opportunities and addressing developmental challenges confronting the people of Anambra West.
The foundation prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the new commissioner as he assumes office.
