Soludo Offers Scholarship, Employment to 37 First-Class Graduates of Anambra Varsity

Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has offered automatic employment to no fewer than 37 first-class graduates of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

Soludo made the offer on Saturday during the institution’s 16th convocation ceremony held at the University’s main campus, Igbariam also gave automatic scholarship for postgraduate studies to all 37 first-class graduates of the university.

The Governor, a first-class graduate of Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Enugu State, further made a personal donation of the sum of N4million to the overall best graduating student, Ume, Augustus Somtochukwu, of the Economics Department of the University, who scored 4.85 out of 5.0 cumulative grade point aggregate.

Soludo had earlier decorated Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Hassan Kukah following his appointment as the new Chancellor of the University.

The institution, within the convocation week, had played host to two European Ambassadors: the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Goutier Mignot, who delivered a lecture on climate action, and the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Michal Cygan, who delivered a lecture on shared prosperity.

The lectures reflect the three Vs of Values, Viability, and Visibility of the University Vice Chancellor, Prof Kate Omenugha. Both Ambassadors were received by the Governor Soludo, at the state Government House, otherwise called The Light House, in Awka, the State capital.
