In a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and holistic education, Ridge Valley Academy, Awka, on Friday, March 27, 2026, successfully hosted its much-anticipated Jersey Games Day, bringing together pupils, parents, and guests in a colourful display of talent and coordinated excellence.

The event, held at the school’s Dubai Estate campus, lived up to expectations as all scheduled activities were seamlessly executed, reflecting the institution’s strong organisational culture and commitment to raising well-rounded learners.

From the opening prayer through the march past, band performance, lighting of the sports torch, and a series of engaging sporting contests, the atmosphere remained electric, with pupils demonstrating discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

A major highlight of the day was the active participation of the four houses – Hope House, Love House, Faith House, and Peace House who competed in grand style across key sporting events, including tennis, volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Their performances not only showcased athletic ability but also reinforced the values of collaboration, resilience, and healthy competition.

Adding glamour and excitement to the event was the enthusiastic participation of parents, who took to the field for tennis and soccer matches. Their involvement created a unique blend of fun and bonding, further strengthening the school-community relationship and underscoring the inclusive philosophy of the institution.

In her remarks, the Director of the school, Dr. Ify Ejelue, expressed profound appreciation to parents, pupils, and guests for their unwavering support towards the school’s vision.

“Our school is dynamic. We will continue to make impact in our children, giving them the very best,” she stated, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to excellence and continuous development.

Observers at the event also took time to commend the visionary leadership of the Chairman of the school, Chief Sir Iyke Ejelue, whose sustained investment and dedication have been instrumental in the rapid growth and transformation of Ridge Valley Academy within just nine years of its establishment.

In a significant development, the school announced its readiness to commence its secondary school section in September 2026 -a milestone that further cements its position as a fast-rising centre of academic and character development.

A guided tour of the new secondary arm revealed state-of-the-art facilities, including ICT centre, standard library, science laboratories, modern classrooms, and a multipurpose hall, all designed to provide a conducive and forward-looking learning environment. The readiness of these facilities reflects careful planning and a clear vision for expansion without compromising quality.

The event drew to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Gina Okeke, who appreciated all stakeholders for their contributions towards the success of the programme.
