Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state has elected Prof. Alex Chinwuba Asigbo and Prof. Hilda Osisioma as new Deputy Vice-Chancellors for Academic and Administration respectively.
Prof. Asigbo of the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies was elected as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Prof. Osisioma of the Department of Business Administration was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).

A statement from Public Relations Unit said the elections conducted during the 242nd meeting of the University Senate on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie.
“Before her election, Prof. Osisioma had served as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Coordinating) for a period of three months, during which she provided administrative leadership and stability.

“Prof. Asigbo is currently the Director of UNIZIK Commercial Ventures and a former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, bringing with him a wealth of academic and administrative experience to his new role.
“Their emergence is expected to further strengthen the academic and administrative structure of the University in line with its commitment to discipline, self-reliance, and excellence,” the statement added.
