Ikenga further confirmed successful containment of security-related issues that arose during Town Union elections conducted in some communities across the State within the festive period.

“Police operatives, working in synergy with other security agencies and community stakeholders, were promptly deployed to affected areas upon receiving reports of tension and disagreements associated with the electoral process.

“The Command commended community leaders, town union officials, and residents for their cooperation and restraint, which greatly contributed to the peaceful resolution of the issues.

“The Command further advised community members, candidates, supporters, and other stakeholders who are still not satisfied with the outcome to channel their grievances through lawful and established mechanisms.

“To this end, joint security patrols were intensified across major highways, commercial centres, places of worship, and recreational areas throughout the festive period, resulting in a calm and hitch-free celebration in most parts of the State,” he stressed.
