PRESIDENT-GENERAL of Enugwu-Agidi Town Union, Hon. Ambassador Ebuka David Onuorah, has dismissed 34 lawsuits slammed against him at various courts as politically motivated legal hurdles erected by those plotting to derail his administration’s reforms in the community.

In an exclusive interview to address the protracted leadership challenges in Enugwu-Agidi, Hon. David Onuorah, who has been the community’s town union leader since 2021, publicly confirmed facing 34 distinct court cases.

These cases, spanning charges from terrorism to vigilante complaints, were characterized by Onuorah as politically motivated instruments intended to undermine his efforts to reform levy collections and initiate village-chairmen elections.

Onuorah who presented a certified copy of a 2024 Federal High Court judgment which dismissed allegations of gun-running against him due to insufficient evidence, stressed that he has never been convicted in any legitimate court of law.

Court records from Nnewi, Awka, and Enugu indicate 28 active cases as of November 2025, with six (6) others dismissed due to lack of prosecution. Representatives from the Igwe’s cabinet declined to comment on these figures, dismissing them as exaggerations aimed at garnering sympathy.

Onuorah further presented evidence indicating that prior to 2021, levies imposed on shop owners—officially set at ₦500 per stall—were improperly diverted into private accounts managed by unelected individuals referred to as “collection agents.”

According to the PG, since March 2022, his administration has implemented a digitized levy collection system that has redirected funds transparently towards community development projects, including street lighting on the Obibia Enugwu-Agidi/Amawbia road, renovation of the Community Health Centre, and sponsorship of bursaries for 42 indigent students.

He categorically stated, “No new levies have been introduced; we have merely ceased the previous misappropriation.”

In response to viral footage depicting a motorcade, Onuorah provided official police reports documenting three assassination attempts between 2022 and 2024, including a petrol-bomb attack on his family residence.

The Nigeria Police Force Zone 13 confirmed the assignment of a two-man security team exclusively for his protection.

Despite the contentious environment, Onuorah extended an invitation for a public town-hall audit of all funds collected since 2021, advocating for full transparency and accountability.
