The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the recently concluded Anambra State election, Chief Jeff Nweke, has called on other contenders to accept the people’s verdict and work together for the progress of the state.
Nweke congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his victory and urged his fellow contestants to prioritize unity and collaboration over post-election disputes.
He emphasized that collective support for the incoming administration would help consolidate democratic gains and advance Anambra’s development goals.
“It is time to put politics aside and focus on building a more prosperous and inclusive Anambra State,” Nweke said.
Addressing journalists in Awka recently, Nweke described the election as peaceful and reflective of the will of the people, commending both the electorate and the electoral authorities for ensuring a credible process.
“Our people have spoken, and their voices must be respected. The election was largely peaceful, and voters exercised their franchise freely,” Nweke said. “I have accepted the outcome and have sent my congratulatory message to Governor Soludo. I believe it is time to move forward and work together for the progress of Anambra State.”
He noted that while reports of vote buying emerged from some parts of the state, he did not personally witness such incidents at his polling unit. He emphasized that, overall, the result reflected the choice of the electorate.
Nweke commended the improved voter turnout and the peaceful conduct of citizens, describing it as a sign of growing democratic maturity in the state.
He also lauded Governor Soludo for extending an olive branch to his opponents and reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance.
“The governor has shown humility and a willingness to run a government that accommodates everyone,” Nweke said. “I encourage other candidates to accept his hand of partnership. In every election, there must be a winner, but governance belongs to all.”
The AA candidate further advised the governor to prioritize job creation and the use of technology in addressing security challenges, noting that tackling unemployment would go a long way toward reducing crime and social unrest.
“If I were in his position, I would focus on employment and empowerment because these are at the heart of our security and economic challenges,” he added.
Nweke concluded by urging all stakeholders to put aside political differences and work collectively toward a better Anambra State.
“Elections come and go, but our duty to build the state remains. I wish Governor Soludo wisdom, protection, and success as he leads Anambra into a new phase of development,” he said.
