The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command, Commandant Bridget Asekhauno has said the Corp will continue to collaborate with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to promote a better society and enhance road safety awareness.

Asekhauno disclosed this in her office on Monday when the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra state council led by their chairman, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD paid her a courtesy visit.

Asekhauno expressed delight over the support the Corps has been receiving from Nigeria journalists since her assumption of duty as the 16th substantive Sector Commander in Anambra state.

“I am impressed with the relationship your union has with FRSC. As a matter of fact, journalists have shown great commitment in spreading our messages to the public.

“Anambra journalists have consistently published our news through their media platforms. If we were to pay for these services, it would be costly. They often publish our stories without charges which is invaluable. We are truly grateful for their support and in return, we are happy to collaborate with you.”

Earlier, the state chairman of NUJ, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu said the visit was to build more mutual understanding between the Corps and journalists in the state and to promote safety, security, and public enlightenment.

“Journalists in the state are law-abiding and willing to partner with government agencies like the FRSC to build a safer and better society.

He equally promised that the renewed collaboration would yield positive results.
