The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has dismissed the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu as politically irrelevant.

It said Ukachukwu cannot compete with Governor Chukwuma Soludo, whom it described as a treasured national asset and Anambra’s vital link to the federal government.

National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, in a statement on Thursday accused Ukachukwu of making desperate attempt to gain President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s attention during the President’s recent visit to Owerri, Imo State.

Obigwe revealed that, despite claims from Ukachukwu’s supporters about his access to the President, photographic evidence tells a different story.

“Ukachukwu was spotted alongside Senator Uche Ekwunife, straining to catch a glimpse of President Tinubu from the second row, a clear indication that Ukachukwu was snubbed at the event.

“This image confirms what we have said all along — Ukachukwu lacks recognition and influence at the national level,” Obigwe said.

He also slammed a recent pro-Ukachukwu blog post claiming Soludo tried to block Ukachukwu from meeting the President as “senseless blackmail.”

According to Obigwe, no evidence has emerged to prove Ukachukwu ever gained access to President Tinubu during the visit.

Obigwe argued that Ukachukwu is politically insignificant at the federal level and warned that APC’s narrative about Ukachukwu bridging Anambra to the centre is misleading.

“Governor Soludo remains the only credible bridge to the federal government,” he emphasized, pointing to the ongoing collaboration between Soludo’s administration and President Tinubu’s government on development projects.

Describing Ukachukwu’s camp as “drowning in desperation,” Obigwe said he had personally reached out to contacts within the APC to reaffirm that Soludo is Anambra’s best hope for national integration and sustained development.

“President Tinubu, focused on his Renewed Hope Agenda, will never sacrifice a useful leader like Soludo for a politically irrelevant candidate like Ukachukwu,” Obigwe stated bluntly.

He called Soludo a “national asset” deserving of continuity, aligning with APGA’s campaign slogan “4 + 4 = 8,” which seeks to secure Soludo’s second term until March 17, 2030.
