Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has warned that ban on graduation parties for nursery and primary schools, mini skirts and sagging uniforms are still in force.

She warned that violations would attract accountability.

Speaking at the 2025 Principals’ Retreat in Awka, Chuma-Udeh described principals as “apostles in nurturing souls” and reminded them to implement government policies diligently.

She also enjoined them to uphold high standards of discipline and professionalism, saying the state must always be proud of them.

Chuma-Udeh also urged principals to allow students to reuse textbooks from older siblings to reduce parents’ financial burden.

“Free education does not mean parents cannot buy books from vendors of their choice,” she stressed.

In a related development, Commissioner Chuma-Udeh has promised members of National Association of Proprietors of Private School of government support, assuring them that illegal tax collectors would no longer harass schools.
