Assistant National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) South East, Sir Ojukwu Obakasi, received special praises and prayers for his leadership achievements from his maternal Kinsmen, Umuoba Anam.

Obakasi was given the rare honour as Nwa-Ada Umuoba Anam during the 2025 Otite Anam (New Yam) festival celebration by the Umuoba Anam Development Council, UADC Awka Branch held over the weekend.

Otite, which is a celebration and thanksgiving for a successful farming season, drew together Indigenes of the community resident in Awka, Anambra State capital.

The event, which Obakasi described as “joyful, inspiring and emotional,” saw elders of his maternal kinsmen, formally charging him to “go forth and do exploits in human development and public service.”

“Ndi Ikwunne m, I thank you very much,” Obakasi said, expressing gratitude to his maternal relatives.

The blessing comes several years after Obakasi was conferred with the traditional title of Osisioma Anam by Igwe George Ekwealor, Obagu II, the traditional ruler of Umuoba Anam.

In his official capacity, Obakasi plays key roles in the communication strategy of the party across the southeast region.
