Police Arrest Suspected Drug Peddler, Cultist, Recover Firearms in Anambra

Police in Anambra state have arrested a 35-year old suspected drug peddler cultist close to a building site in Nkpor-Umuoji road in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

Command spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the suspect, Ebuka Ubadigbo was apprehended by Operatives attached to Special Anti-Cult Squad (SPACS) Enugwu Ukwu.

He said items recovered from the suspects include two pump-action guns with two live cartridges and large quantities of substances suspected to be hard drugs.

He said, “Anambra State Police Command in its sustained fight against cultism, drug peddling and unlawful possession of firearms through the Police Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cult Squad (SPACS) Enugwu Ukwu in the late hours of August 28, 2025 arrested one Ebuka Ubadigbo ‘M’, 35 years old at Nkpor-Umuoji road, close to a building site in Idemili North LGA.

“The Operatives also recovered 2 (two) pump-action guns with two live cartridges and large quantities of substances suspected to be hard drugs.

“Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspect confessed involvement in drug peddling and Investigations are ongoing to identify his accomplices and trace the source of the recovered firearms.

“The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.”
