Anambra State government has pledged its willingness to work with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to strengthen road safety education in schools.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh who made the pledged during a courtesy visit to the FRSC Sector Command in Awka commended the Corps for its sustained safety enlightenment.

She promised collaboration on school-based campaigns to safeguard pupils and students.

Receiving the Commissioner, Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander expressed optimism that the partnership would help implement road safety education.

She said the synergy would also assist in setting up safety clubs, organise safety weeks and enforce standards for school buses in line with global best practices.

“Our strategy is to catch them young. When pupils are trained, they become safety ambassadors who can even remind their parents of road safety rules,” she added.
