Be Resilient Amidst Life Challenges – UNIZIK VC Charges High School Graduands

Acting Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state, Prof Carol Arinze-Umeobi has advised graduating students of UNIZIK High School not to rely on certificates only for their future.

Arinze-Umeobi who gave the advice on Tuesday at the class of 2025 graduation ceremony of the school held at the University auditorium urged the graduands to empower themselves with practical skills.

The Acting VC, represented by HoD, Educational Management and Policy, Prof Patience Egboka said, “Be morally upright. Know what is right and do it. Let your conduct, both online and offline, reflect good values.

“Be resilient, life comes with challenges. Stay strong, focused and determined. Don’t give in to depression or hopelessness.

“Take care of yourself. Mind what you eat, where you go and how you spend your time. Above all, build a personal relationship with God.”

Appreciating the school management and teachers for their commitment and dedication in shaping the minds of the graduands academically and morally, the VC urged parents, friends and well wishers to support the school.

Chairman of the occasion, Hon Pst. Levi Afusi congratulated the graduands for being among the successful ones, urging them to depend on God for their future endeavors.

“The journey has just started. As you’ve taken your JAMB, not all of you would gain admission the same time. Same with graduation. But don’t allow such to discourage You may have your dreams, but it’s God that will make it happen,” he stated.

Earlier, Principal of the school, Mrs Israel Atinuke described the occasion as a celebration of years of perseverance, sleepless nights, breakthroughs and growth.

She commended the graduands’ resilience, curiosity and courage, just as she warned them to be ready for the challenges ahead.

“The world you’re stepping into is complex. It will challenge you, stretch you and at times test your limit but never forget you’re capable, resilient and ready,” she added.

Also speaking, Chairman, Parents Teachers Council (PTC), Ugochukwu Okonkwo congratulated the graduands for their exploits, just as he appreciated the parents and teachers for their efforts in bringing out the best in the students.

“Hardwork pays and UNIZIK High School is a place to showcase that,” he said.

Highpoint of the occasion which attracted parents, teachers and friends of the school were award presentations to outstanding students and cutting of graduation cake.
