Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, (APC), Pharm. Klinsmann Ikeagwuonwu has accused Anambra state Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo of not doing enough to protect residents against perpetrators of insecurity in the state.

He alleged that “the most glaring failure of Soludo’s administration is the worsening security situation in Anambra.”

Ikeagwuonwu, a Swedish-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) creativity startup expert in a statement, lamented that Anambra “is under hostage by criminals.”

He cited reports of increased kidnappings, robberies and communal conflicts, urging Soludo to do more to provide security for residents of the state.

He said, “During his campaign, Soludo promised to tackle the menace of unknown gunmen and restore safety across the state.

“Yet, insecurity has not only persisted but escalated under his watch, surpassing the challenges faced during his predecessor’s tenure.

“With increased federal allocation freed up by removal of fuel subsidy, Governors have no excuses not to fund security agencies in their states and must be held accountable for prudent management of security votes.

“Soludo has unprecedented funds at his disposal, yet he has not shown the political will to deploy these resources effectively to secure lives and property.

“As the November 8, 2025, governorship election approaches, Ndi Anambra should reject Soludo’s rhetoric and demand accountability for a state that under his leadership, is undeniably broken and in desperate need of mending.”

He further said: “Soludo’s focus on projects like water fountains and recreation centers, such as the Soludo Fun City, has drawn criticism for prioritizing aesthetics over critical infrastructure.

“Anambra deserves more than water fountains and amusement parks when refuse heaps are taking over our towns and major roads remain in disrepair.

“The promise of transforming Anambra into a Dubai, Taiwan, and Hong Kong has been reduced to cosmetic projects that fail to address the state’s crumbling infrastructure, contradicting Soludo’s own call to preserve and build on what works.”
