Anambra Guber: Obi, Umeh, Nwoye, others storm Onitsha as LP’s Moghalu kicks off campaign

Labour Party candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, is expected to be in attendance as LP governorship candidate for Anambra 2025 election, Chief Dr. George Moghalu formally kick off his statewide campaign in Onitsha on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Also eexpected at the rally slated for 10am at the All Saints Cathedral field, Onitsha are the Senators representing Anambra North and Central, Dr. Tony Nwoye and Dr. Victor Umeh as well as House of Representatives members under the party.

According to an official statement by the Labour Party, Anambra State Chairman, Ugochukwu Emeh, the rally is aimed at deepening party’s grassroots movement and reaffirming its shared commitment to equity, good governance and people-oriented leadership.
Emeh further disclosed that the rally would also feature inspirational addresses from the stalwarts and members of the party, including National Leader of the party, Mr Peter Obi, Governorship Candidate, Dr. George Moghalu and his Deputy, Lady Ifeoma Okaro.
“Representatives at both National and State Assemblies, party Stakeholders and Grassroots Mobilizers would also be addressing party faithful at the rally.

“Let us unite with purpose and resolve to shape a brighter and more inclusive Anambra. Together, we move forward— for the people, and with the people,” he added.
