Anambra NYSC Coordinator hails Corps members as embodiment of Nigerian unity

Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Anambra State, Mrs Pauline Ojisua, has commended the passion and creativity of corps members deployed to the state for their one year mandatory service.

Ojisua who made the commendation at the 2025 Batch A Stream II inter-platoon cultural carnival described corps members as embodiment of NYSC’s unyielding dream of a united nation.

She stressed the need for participants at the function to carry the spirit of the ceremony beyond the camp to build a Nigeria where every voice is heard, culture cherished and heart beats as one.

She said, “My heart swells with pride and joy as I stand before you today in this Camp where we gather to celebrate the 2025 Batch A, Stream II Cultural Carnival.

“This is no ordinary event. It is a bold, living testament to the heartbeat of our nation, where our ten platoons unite to weave a story of over 250 ethnic groups through dance, cuisine, history, marriage traditions, and fashion.

“Here, we don’t just display our cultures; we breathe life into the very essence of Nigeria’s diversity.

“Today, we are not just Corps members or spectators—we are torchbearers of unity! Our differences are not walls to divide us but bridges to connect us.

“In every step of your dance, in every fabric of your attire, every flavor of your food, every story you tell, we see the strength of a Nigeria that thrives because of its diversity.

“This carnival is a sacred space where stereotypes crumble, friendships blossom, and the spirit of one Nigeria rises above all.

“To every Corps member participating in this event, I salute your passion and creativity. You embody the NYSC’s unyielding dream of a united nation.

“To the Carnival Committee, your tireless efforts have painted this day with colours of hope and harmony—thank you!

Appreciating the State Government, traditional rulers and other stakeholders for identifying with the scheme, called on them to carry the unity spirit beyond the camp.

“I call on you to immerse yourselves in this cultural symphony. Let the rhythms of our dances move your spirit, let the stories of our people ignite your pride, and let the unity we share today stir your soul.

“Let it echo in your actions, your words, and your dreams. Build a Nigeria where every voice is heard, every culture is cherished, and every heart beats as one. Together, let us rise as one Nigeria—united, unstoppable, and forever proud,” she added.

Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba reiterated Governor Chukwuma Soludo commitment to empowering young people, fostering national unity, and driving meaningful integration.

He called the corps members to enjoy the cultural displays as they embrace the spirit of unity the carnival represented.

“The NYSC has played a pivotal role in these efforts, and today’s cultural carnival is a shining example of how our youth can build bridges across cultures and contribute to national development.

“As we celebrate today, I urge you to also reflect on the vast potential within each of you. The knowledge, discipline, and experiences you gain during your service year are tools that will prepare you for the vital roles ahead.

“Remember, beyond the dances, songs, and colorful attire, the true heart of this event lies in collaboration, understanding and harmony, values that are essential for building a strong and united nation,” he added.
